Communication Skills for Surgeons
Surgeons in their daily practice have to be experts in:
Breaking Bad News.
Consenting.
Dealing with Difficult Patients.
Dealing With Distressed Relatives.
The Course will be a one-day experiential workshops where 10 medical staff will be supported to learn about, and use, effective communication skills and develop a breaking bad news strategy.
Medicate has introduced a special Communication Skills Course aimed at all Surgeons those in training and who are appearing for their ST3 & CT interviews.
This course will be useful in the future for all surgical trainees and can be used for future certification towards Advanced Communication Skills.

09.00 – 09.20 Welcome and introductions, an outline of the day.
09.20 – 10.30 Challenges of BBN.
10.30 – 11.00 Interactive Demonstration – Breaking bad news using a structure.
11.00 – 11.15 Coffee.
The course will be a one day course led by 2 Communication Skills experts with constant Role Play and will have a maximum group size of ten.
